Middle Creek Snow Geese Migration

Snow geese have annual migration patterns and here at Middle Creek we bore witness to one of these migrations. Thousands and thousands (as many as 150,000) snow geese migrate from Middle Creek each year and 37 seconds of the 2022 migration are documented here. These videos were taken on February 26th, 2022 — one through your typical iPhone camera and the other through a magnifying lens provided at the site. Snow geese were deemed an endangered species in 1916, but throughout the past few decades, this species has made a massive comeback, with the population growing by 300% since the 1970s.
